Day 24 of the Leopard Hunt and day 3 of the Great Central Road (GCR).

Alice Springs to Uluru....or is it?

My geography is shocking...I knew Ayers rock was a little out of town from Alice, but I didn't realise it is a whole day's drive!

The only place the dogs were allowed at Uluru is the caravan park, and there is no doggies daycare at Uluru if u want to book a tour, so we made the decision to just do a drive by, and shoot a few pic's.

Prior to Ayers Rock we came upon Curtin Springs Station, they advertised camping grounds and cold beer, so we thought Why not?

Curtin Springs has been operating by the Severin family since 1956, over one million acres in size, and a welcome tourist stop for the thirsty traveller, it is testament to the strong character and strength of this family.

Don't be put off by the gruff nature of the chap at the bar - this place is a real gem....also check out the jewellery they sell featuring paper made from grasses harvested off the station.
