ANZAC DAY

"Lord God, help us this day to remember the sacrifice of the first ANZACs, Australian and New Zealander, and the generations of men, women and children who have died in the cause of liberty and peace.'

We got up before dawn to pay our respects, and it was such a beautiful place to remember and celebrate our Nation's freedom.

Our first stop was the "Head of the Bight" at Bunda Cliffs.

Ian's first thought as we drove up was, "Why do they have to develop areas and mess it all up?" but he quickly took that back.

This is definitely a must-see if you're ever crossing the Nullarbor. Whether it's whale season or not, the view is amazing.

Back on the road, we were warned to watch out for kangaroos, wombats, and emus. We were really hoping to see a wombat, but unfortunately, we only saw one that had a run-in with a vehicle.

This area really is a treeless plain... very green with lots of foliage (following the unusually high rainfall), but not a tree in sight.

We pushed on to Penong and headed down to Point Sinclair.

Our first stop was Pt LeHunte, where they have a shark-proof swimming area, then we went back to Cactus to spend the night. this is the first paid campsite we have stayed in and it's a great and only $17.50 per person per night, and it has clean toilets, warm showers, a wonderful camp kitchen, and firepits with firewood provided.
