Day 22 of the Leopard Hunt and day 1 of the Great Central Road (GCR) aka Australia's Longest Shortcut, or Outback Way.
Well, we are in Winton, Queensland - and apart from being the home of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, it is also the start of the GCR - Australia's Longest Shortcut - the road had just re-opened on 5 May after flooding, so we thought "why not, it's only 2,700 km to Laverton with some semi sealed sections?"
Let the next leg of the adventure begin!
No big shops in Winton, so down to the local supermarket to provision up, not knowing how long this part of our journey would actually take. Although the road had re-opened there were still works going on to repair washouts, and there was still some more rain to come!
We're off to Tobermorey Station, a working station in the NT.

Next Leg: Day 23 of Our Leopard Hunt - Day 2 of GCR - Australia's Longest Shortcut Tobermorey station to Alice Springs.
